Vibrancy
Welcome

This is the first issue of Vibrancy, a quarterly zine published by PartySmart. The purpose of Vibrancy is:

  • To highlight outstanding promoters, DJs, PartySmart volunteers, and everyone who contributes to the vibrancy of our culture.

  • To encourage participants to take responsibility for the health of our community, including respect for our culture.

  • To share news and opportunities relevant to youth culture.

  • To provide a public medium for your creativity.

  • To update our supporters on the work of PartySmart.

Vibrancy is published quarterly by PartySmart on the web, in print, and by email. The browsable version of each issue contains links to its printable and emailable versions, and links to all of the other issues, past and future.

The first version will be convenient for viewing with a web browser, and will present each section or story on a separate web page. Each web page will be formatted so as to look great and be easy to navigate when viewed using any web browser (including MS Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, and Opera) with almost any screen size and resolution. Every article must be viewable using at most two clicks on well-identified and well-organized links.

The second version will be viewable with a web browser and convenient to print out from the browser. All articles will appear on one web page, which will be formatted so that each printed page looks great. This will be the definitive version, and will require the most work to produce; the other two versions should be easy to derive from this one. We will use this version for printing and distribution by hand to our friends; at our booth; at other agencies and locations that serve our clients, partners, and funders; and by snail mail. We will include printed copies with our grant applications to individual and corporate donors, foundations, and other funding agencies.

Finally, the third version will be viewable with a web browser and easy to copy and paste into an email message for distribution on a mailing list. This version will probably need to do without fancy fonts and graphics. The point of having such a simple version is to make this newsletter available to those who only read email that contains no attachments and who don’t like to use a web browser. The first few words of the email message must make the reader want to read further, and it must be easy to see at a glance that the rest would be worth their time to read.
